Another cute mini, but no fire? (2010-05-19)
I've always had a soft spot for Cyndaquil. It's not as cute as Charmander or Chimchar, but those cute eyes and trying to figure out just what it was supposed to be ended up making me like it. When I saw the mini plush of it, I bought the little dude right away. Like the other mini plush, Cyndaquil is very soft and well-made. The colors are dead-on, and he's one of the few I own that can stand/sit up on his own. The guys at Jakks did a good job with the design on this one, and it's good to finally get some minis from an earlier generation that aren't the standard cute Pokemon.
But I'm not giving it a full 5 stars because I personally feel that the Cyndaquil that you can get with fire on their backs look better. It adds some pop to the color, and while this one's pretty much him not in battle mode, aren't you used to seeing him with fire too? Oh well, he's still cool.
If you collect Pokemon plush or your kids love Cyndaquil, getting this guy is a sure thing. The price is right (the ORIGINAL retail price is what I'm basing this on) and it beats having to pay 4 times as much for an imported version.
