Great gift (2009-11-01)
This figure pack was a great hit for nine year old boy's birthday. I appreciate the fact that it encourages imaginative play. Don't like seeing the kids playing with everything plugged in or battery operated. Nice to see kids playing with figures that way they use their imagination and are fully engaged in playing socially with other children.
Plus... VERY popular with the kids. Birthday boy was happy and other kids at the party were impressed with it, wanted to open up and play with right away.

I had purchased the Pokemaon Jakks Pacific Diamond & Pearl Exclusive Basic 6-Figure Pack at the behest of my dear friend Clifford, whom in his "vale of years" had acquired a more-than-fitting menagerie of vaunted Pokemon Warriors. Alas, mine own collection, though superior to most, was still wanting in stature to Clifford's "most noblest Roman". Why, the very fact that Turtwig, YES TURTWIG, was among this fearsome sextet of Heroes, each one "every inch a king", emboldened me to challenge gentle Clifford to a duel!
"Once more into the breach" I exclaimed as I entered Clifford's basement. He pounced upon me with the wily and serpentine Bidoof. A valiant beast indeed, but bested by my masterful stroke of unleashing the "swift as a shadow" Chimchar. I'm sure at this moment my earnest foe was thinking, "O villain, villain, smiling, damned villain"! Carpe diem being the rule of the day I initiated a devastating attack employing the redoubtable Piplup leading the vanguard. Clifford's Champion, Squirtle "the crack of doom", threw up hasty defenses under the unblinking gaze of my erstwhile general Turtwig. The result was never in doubt gentle reader, for the rout was on! I did feel remorse, "O coward, conscience, how dost thou afflict me!" for dear Clifford is so precious to me and in the press of battle I clumsily spilt chocolate milk upon his pajamas, "the most unkindest cut of all".
